This is fictional.
I was sitting on the long grass of my uncle's farm. His horses grazed everywhere. I got up to pat my favourie horse, Amethyst. "Hi Girl." I said, stroking her coat. Amethyst was having a foal in a few days. "Time to go home, Ella." Mum called. I got up and went for the car.
We moved into our new house a month ago, mum and I had about 3 achres of grass, plus an old stable. Mum always said she would get me a horse, but she can't afford one right now. I love my riding lessons, but I really want my own horse.
The phone rang, mum picked it up and we rushed to the car. Amethyst was about to have her foal. We arrived at my uncle Bill's house and he told us that Amethyst wasn't going to live anymore. She was so old, that when she will give birth, she will be in so much pain, that she will be in even more pain for the rest of her life. My uncle said she would take her to be put down tomorrow.
Soon, the foal was born. It was a little girl, and guess what! My uncle said i could have the foal! I said goodbye to Amethyst, "Goodbye, I love you. I promise I will take care of your foal and make her happy. You will always be in my heart." I shed a tear as I hugged Amethyst.
The next day I woke up, thinking what I would call my foal. Mum and I went around to Uncle Bill's place after lunch, after Amethyst had gone. My uncle gave me a lead rope, brushes, picks and lots more for my new foal. I looked into her sparkiling eyes. "Rosie is the perfect name for you." Her chestnut coat gleamed in the sunshine. "Now Ella," My uncle began, "You must promise me that you will train Rosie into a fine horse." "I promise." I told him. "She will be just as fine a horse as her mum."

This is a fictional story
As I took my lovely new foal, Rosie, into the barn, I thought how lucky I was to get a foal. I mean, its not everyday that your uncle says, "I'm giving you a horse." Is it?
As months went by, I told rosie all about her mum, Amethyst, who had been put down when Rosie was born. Whenever I told her that her mum was pretty, she whinnied loudly and I laughed. Everyday I would put Rosie's halter on and lead her around by the chain.
When Rosie was 1, I decided to put a saddle and bridle on her and lead her around on a lead rope. The first time I put a saddle on her, she bucked, but I just trained her. At the end of every afternoon, mum would call out, "Ella! I have some snacks!" and I would go inside and have a bite to eat and a drink. I never knew it would be so tiring!
When Rosie was 19 months, I started getting her into trot. I trained her to listen to my voice. She was very easy to teach. She had a beautiful nature like her mother. She was funny, she rolled around on the grass when she wanted a treat. She loved being in the water and being groomed.
When Rosie turned 2, I was finally going to sit on her back. The first time, I put her saddle on and jumped on her back slowly. She was great! I just walked her around, she never threw me off! Through the year, I got her to trot and canter with me! I finally knew that I had broken in my first horse!
I started training Rosie for dressage when she was 3. We came second in our first competition, but we came a place in many more. Now my bedroom is filled with rosettes and trophies. I am so proud that I have trained a horse all by myself.
