horsewhisperergirl, practice makes perfect that's what I do all day is try out new ways to draw. Sometimes using pictures can become a huge crutch and sometimes it's good to use your imagination it's good to just sit in front of a piece of paper and draw something from your mind, you should really try :)

To Aspen: That is actually what I do. Most are based off of pictures of our mustangs although I need some more practice.

Since you are drawing real horses, you should take a picture and then draw them unless that is what you are doing. I use references (pictures off of the internet) to draw and then I use carbon paper to get the sketch just right ;)

You're doing great! I learned it’s easier to draw horses out coloring books or the internet first. I personally have never drawn something alive, they don’t keep still! Keep it up! Horses forever!! 🐴🐎🐎
