War Horse

War Horse came out at Christmas 2011. It is based on the classic horse book, which I read years ago. It tells the story of Albert and his horse Joey who get separated during the war, and then try to get reunited. The book was pretty amazing - it made me cry in places, and I expected the movie was going to be intense too!

The book was made into a really popular Broadway show and now a movie. It's directed by Steven Spielberg who has made some other amazing movies (like ET!) so it should be really fabulous too.

Best horse movies ever

I don’t usually suggest movies to anyone cause it’s hard to find flawless movies and that’s the only kind I ever recommend. What do I call a flawless movie? One that I can watch a thousand times over and not get bored and also say after every single time, "There’s not one mistake in the whole thing!!!" Warhorse and Hidalgo are both exactly that for me.

Well, have a good time and be sure to have a tissue ready while watching Warhorse. Also when you sit down to view Hidalgo, be certain there’s no fragile items that could be destroyed by your hopping around during the suspenseful parts ;)

P.S. it also has Loki, ahem, I mean Tom Hiddleston in it. "Ahhh" (horse crazy fan faints)

Powerful story of courage and friendship

WWI film about a boy that follows his horse into battle. Saw it on Broadway and then the film. Just great.Get your box of tissues ready. But not for very young viewers, graphic war scenes.

A Great Film!

This is one of my favorites. The cinematography is stunning, and Joey is just beautiful! I feel sad because the horse I used to have, (we gave him away), his name was Derby and I'd always call him my Joey :( I miss him. But anyways the story is great, there is violence and it's a very long film so it may not be the best for young horse lovers but for older people it's great.

P.S: I have a big crush on Albert :)

War Horse is way better than Transformers 3

I always wanted to see War Horse when it first came out. It was way better than Transformers: Dark of the Moon, except I wished it came out a little early in the summer and not in the winter. But they were both made in the same year, 2011.

Wow.... Just wow

This movie was absolutely unbelievable. I NEVER cry during movies - EVER. This movie had me crying almost through half the movie. It is a bit graphic with war scenes and some dead horses, but is an AMAZING movie for any horse lover who wants to watch a movie that outlines the incredible bond that forms between a horse and the person it loves. Absolutely incredible, indescribable feeling after watching this movie. I thought Secretariat was my all time favorite, but after seeing War Horse, I have changed my mind.

I read the book before I saw the movie and I was a bit disappointed because they left out the sad parts and left out the end part when Emily's grandad tells Albert to spread the word of her and how she saved Topthorn and Joey. It was a good movie but they changed it and it is very different to the book.
