I looked around... "see any you like?" asked my mother. "no." I replied. We were at a horse auction though all the horses were either too small or too fat or too big or suffered health problems. I sigh. It seemed like we would never find a pony.

A few hours later we interviewed a lot of owners but none had been good enough. We wouldn't find my dream pony today after all. That night I wept. Last night I had thought that at that time tonight I would have a pony, but no, I came home horseless.

Mum heard me crying and came in, "don't worry pet," she said in a sweet calming voice. We'll go to the one next week. I thought of having to wait a whole week I wept even more.

The dream pony - Part 2 (please comment if you want part 3)

The pony smelled the cold air, it muzzled the wood of the stable it was in. It was a cold winter's night and tomorrow it was the horse and pony auction.

Amy could hardly sleep the night before the horse and pony auction mostly because she was nervous. She truly did hope that the auction the following day would be better then last week's! But deep down she was excited. If the auction did go as she wishes it to be this time tomorrow she may have a pony of her own!

The following day she was up and dressed at 8 am! She was extremely excited! The horse auction was not actually until twelve though she could just burst with the percent of excitement trapped inside her.

At 11:50 sharp her and her mum left because it took a while to get there. When she got there she saw what she saw the weekend before fat ones, ones that needed care but none perfect.. Till the end of the end of the auction she saw a beautiful flea-bitten grey mare. She looked about 12 hh. She was tacked up ready for anyone to try her out.

"Mum can I try out that one?" she asked her mother and pointed to the grey.

"I don't know, do you think she looks safe?" replied her mum anxiously.

"Lets ask," said Amy clearly wanting to buy the grey. So they went over.

"Do you want to try my beautiful welsh mountain mare?" Grumbled the man holding her who clearly just wanted the beauty out of his life.

"Yes is she safe?" asked Amy's mum.

"She's okay if you don't get angry with her," the man admitted and shot a glance at the mare. "She bucked my 13 year old daughter off when she whipped her. I think the brute deserved it," he said clenching his teeth.

Amy looked over the mare, "I think she has a sore back maybe you should get her checked out by a proper vet?" She replied.

"It cost too much money," he clearly hated the mare as much as you could hate a horse, which Amy thought wasn't that much. But today this man had clearly broken the limit!

"But for the horse's sake..." Amy started but he interrupted her.

"This is my horse and if I say its too much money I mean its too much money," he shouted so loudly everyone stared at him. "Get back to work!" He said angrily at everyone and they quickly went back to work because they were scared of him.

Amy knew she had just made a deadly enemy. "Can I try her out?" Asked Amy.

"Why should I let you?" He asked her.

"Because if I like her and she is good then I may buy her and take her off your hands," said Amy smartly.

"Fine but be quick," he grumbled as she pulled on her hard hat and mounted up.

She knew this horse was the one and she knew she was in love...

Alex had just mounted up on the flea-bitten grey mare and gently nudged her big belly. She snorted so Alex gently kicked her by the girth and she started walking.

"Strange," thought Alex (if you can guess what's gonna happen please don't spoil it for anyone else)... So she trotted the mare. She didn't want to, she kept stopping but slowly slowing down before stopping. Alex was glad of this because she didn't want to suddenly stop and go flying over her back.

Alex didn't want to ride her for long because of her back so she came back to her anxious mother and the man.

"It was so lovely she has nice floaty paces too!" She said as she dismounted, "she's so brilliant if you be nice to her," she said stroking her head and pulling her fingers though her silky mane, "what breed is she and her age?" She asked him.

"She is a welsh mountain pony, 12 hands high and she is 20 years old," he replied.

"How much for her and her tack and stuff?" She asked him.

"$2,200." He said.

She looked at her mother, "Mum?"

Alex asked "I... darling are you sure she is safe cross your heart and you know enough about horses to look after her?" She asked.

"Mum I know everything I need to and even if she had a foal! Though I couldn't break it in," she said. Was her mother considering?

"I'll think about it," said her mother.

"Mum she's the best we can get and you're just considering? I know I haven't known her for long but I really like her and she's really good for me and the perfect height. Mum I love her, please." Said Alex.

"I er..." started Mum, "I said I will think about it and if you're good and I think she's good then maybe," said Mum so we said goodbye to the man even though we didn't want to and then I remembered something.

"What's her name?" I shouted out to the man.

"Greenlee," he said.

"Arabella."

Alex has been trying to be good all week until finally it was the next auction.

"Mum," she asked hopefully.

"Yes," said her mother.

"Have you been thinking? You know... about Bella?"

"Yes I have, why?" Asked her mother.

"You know I want her," said Alex.

Her mother sighed and looked at her daughter, "and you know I still don’t know if she's safe." Said her mother finally.

"She is!" said Alex.

"The man said she bucked his daughter off!" Said her mother.

"But that's because she had back problems," said Alex, "and I've been good all week and not asked for anything please mum?" She said "please."

Her mother sighed, "I hope I’m not going to regret this," she said at last.

"YIPPEE!" Alex punched the air and jumped up and down.

"We’ll get her today. Now get dressed!" Said her mother.

Alex bunny hopped to her room to show her appreciation. She screamed into her pillow - "I’M GOING TO HAVE A HORSE!" Her mum obviously heard her because she heard a sigh from down stairs.

Earlier Alex had left for the auction and was now looking for the man with Bella sure enough they were there but Bella was in the little kiddies riding place Alex’s eyes widened she wanted to ask the man about this but he was too busy leading a four year old around in the arena when he came back and she dismounted she hugged Bella

"I wuv you," Alex could just make out and then the little girl walked away.

"Hey!" Alex said to the man.

"Oh it’s you again what do you want?" He grumbled

"Well why is Bella here?" Alex asked.

"The little kids love her so I might her up for this," he replied, "now what do you want?"

"I would like to buy Bella."

"Oh," he said quite embarrassed, "well, here," and handed Alex the lead rope.

"Now where’s the money?"

"Hold on," said Alex, "we'll need her covers and brushes and halter and food and bucket."

"Fine, give me your address and tomorrow at 12 I will bring her over with her stuff."

"Thanks," she said "and remember don’t sign her up for this. Her belly doesn’t like to be kicked." She said and they went home.

Tomorrow her horse was arriving and she could hardly sleep. Part 6 coming soon (part 7 is the final part!)

The dream pony - Part 7 (Finale)

It had been 3 weeks since Aries was born and Alex was checking her email inbox from the computer. She had given the little girl that liked Bella her email address so that she could come and see her if she wanted too. She typed the girl an email.

"Hi, this is the owner of Bella
the pony you like I was wondering if you would like to come and see her Friday at 1, that is if you’re not busy. I have so much to tell about.
From Alex."

She thought this was a good message so she pressed the send button. About 5 minutes later she got an email back.

"Hello, this is Mia’s mother. She would very much love to come over on Friday. No, we are not busy. What is the news? From Mary."

Alex went to tell her mother that Mia had said yes in her spare time. She went and brushed Aries and Bella.

On Friday she took the little girl to Bella’s stall. She shrieked when she saw the foal.

"Is it supposed to be in here with her?"

Alex grinned. "This is Aries," she said, "and she is Bella's foal."

EPILOGUE
The girl galloped around on her fifteen hand high horse. She was half Friesian. Apparently the girl touched her on with her heels, it was a sign that the next jump was a big one.

Alex suddenly woke up from her daydream, she looked around. she was tacking Aries up because she had set up some practice jumps and they were about to jump.

"Hello." a voice behind her made her and the filly jump. She turned round to see a boy about her age riding over on a Hanoverian.

"Hi, you shouldn't be on my property."

The boy grinned, "actually this is my property," he said.

"No," said Alex firmly.

"Yes actually, didn't your father tell you he was letting people stay in your house?" He said.

"No.. No.. how many people are there?"

"Oh sorry, only me I mean."

"Oh, well I am just going to do some jumping."

"Marvelous horse."

"Thank you her name is Aries."

"Can I watch you jump?" He asked.

"OK." Alex mounted up and then cantered over to the jumps. She cleared them all with ease.

"Nice," he said smiling he stared at her.

"Why are you staring at me?" She asked.

"Uh, um, was I staring? Sorry," he said.

"That’s OK," said Alex and she grinned.
