A young stable girl meets Arwin, a wild Arva horse that was taken to the king's stable with her two colts. Sierra, the stable girl, sets out with Arwin after the colts are stolen. Along their way they meet a nightmare cursed king, flying horses, and the stable charm man.

The Blue Roan Child is an absolutely fabulous book and I fell head over heels in love with it. It's a pity the author hasn't written anything more.
Do you know what's really cool? I part own a blue roan mare named Arwen! The person who named her had never read The Blue Roan Child and since she was black when she was born she didn't even know that she would turn blue roan! I could not believe it when I read that the horse in the book was called Arwin. Only the spelling is slightly different. Amazing.

BEST BOOK EVER!

I am 15, and I've read this book over 4 times! It is one of the best horse books I've evr read. I would reccomend this book for ages 12+, as it does get a little creepy at the end of the book. You always get SOMETHING out of this book, no matter how many times you've read it before. =)

this book is alright, it is definitely fantasy. i liked, but it took me longer than it normally would for to read a that size because it was a bit confusing in parts and had higher vocabulary. overall, though, i liked this book.
