Samphire Song

I really liked Samphire Song. The author (Jill Hucklesby) sent me the book with the nicest letter telling me about how she grew up wishing for a horse, but couldn’t get one then. She says she now has horses living in a field at the top of her garden - don’t you love happy endings?
The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful cover. Then I got to read the story about a girl, Jodie, who finds a rescues a horse and forms a bond with him but tragedy tears them apart. I won’t give away what happens but in this story you will read about horse rescue, and the ups and downs of life.
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it for probably ages 8 or 9 and up.
In the back of the book, the author, Jill Hucklesby, says that when she was seven her parents sent her for a horseback riding lesson and it was the happiest day of her life. (Sound familiar?!) You can visit the author on her
Facebook page.
