Don't hate me heh heh heh... but I mean, here's chapter 11...finally...
Chapter 11
Guiding Nick through the woods we finally came up to my favorite spot on the property. A small tree house I'd built with my oldest brother about eight years ago. I smiled sadly at the memory,
*Flashback*
"Mattie!" I flew into the strong tanned arms of my brother. His green eyes twinkling in delight at the sight of me. "Don't Go!!!" he swooped me up into his arms and one of his best bear hugs,
"Don't worry Quinnie I'll be back real soon," He set me back down, bending down to my height to look me dead in the eye. "Besides I'm there even when you can't see me," *End of flashback*
Shaking my head to clear it of the memory I slid off Nick careful to land on my good leg as Megan came up beside me.
"I should've known you'd come here," she said frowning. I only came here when I really needed to think. Megan had been here a couple of times but I mainly came alone. Well at least alone with Firefly or Nick. And of course when he was still here, Mattie.
Tying Nick to a tree I made my way over the swing that hung from one of the branches of the same tree as the tree house. I knew I wouldn't be able to climb up but the swing was the second-best thing. Sitting I swung back and forth slowly, as Megan called to me.
"I'm gonna head back, My Dad just texted that he needs me for rush hour. So don't do anything rash,"
I just nodded silently and kept swinging my thoughts continuing to sway just like the branches of the tree. My thoughts fell back into another memory, this sadder than the first.
*Flashback*
"We're sorry sir, there was an accident with two truck each pulling a horse trailer and your sons truck." I crept around the corner, once again ten years old the day after Mattie had left. My parents stood at the front door tears streaming down my Mommy's face as my Daddy pulled her tight against him. I stood shell shocked. A police officer stood at the door as well his cap off his face tight with sadness. What was going on? Mattie said he'd be back today, so I'd thought it was him at the door. They said there was an accident. Was Mattie ok? Where was my brother? I wanted my brother. I ran out from my corner and to my parents my eyes holding unshed tears similar to my father's. Yet his were knowing mine was an unknown worry.
"Daddy? Mommy? Where's Mattie?" My Mommy choked on her sobs and probably would've fallen to the floor was it not for my Daddy. My Daddy covered his mouth with the hand not holding my Mommy. They don't seem to have heard me I thought, so I asked again louder this time, "Where's Mattie!" My Mommy shook her head and that's when the realisation hit. Mattie wasn't coming home. I fell to the floor tears streaming down my face and my parents fell with me all of us on the ground in one big huddle. We sat there for what seemed like hours until my Daddy stood to shake the officer's hand.
"Thank you for telling us," The officer nodded,
"There's another thing you should know. One of the trailers that were hit it was one of yours." I stood, Mattie was transporting the two new foals. one of our mares had just given birth to twins. They had been at the animal hospital waiting for the vet to let them come home. "I'm sorry sir, the colt had to be put down on the spot. The filly though has survived, She was taken to the local clinic to be treated but they said she'd be ok." My Mommy gasped. The filly was alive.
12 hours later...(Still in flashback)
I clung to my Daddy's hand as we walked into the clinic. We were picking up the filly. Only a few days old and had already lost her brother. My heart seemed to shatter more as I heard frantic whinny's coming from a stall at the end. I broke away from my Daddy racing to the filly. I climbed up looking over the stall my Daddy running after me. The Filly's grey coat shone in the light of the stall. Lighting it up. Her frantic whinny's pierced the air yet again. Calling for her brother. But she didn't know yet. She didn't know she wouldn't see her brother ever again. Neither would I.
Before anyone could stop me I slipped into the filly's stall. catching her halter and holding her close. Stroking her neck.
"It's ok. I understand little filly." the Filly didn't struggle just stood in my grasp trembling. But with each stroke the trembling stopped. breathing heavily I laid my head on the filly's neck. "I'm here now little filly. NO ones going to hurt you. From now on I'll keep you safe,"
*Flashback over*
"I promised Firefly. I promised I'd keep you safe. And I will. No matter what." Going back to Nick I used a stump to mount him before kicking him into a canter. Firefly was home and I wouldn't let anything else happen to her. After all... I'd promised.

Chapter 10 by: Sally
Chapter Ten
"QUINCY JONES!" I whirled around to see Megan coming after me and I let out a sigh of relief I'd thought it was my mom, "That was the most amazing exit I have ever seen in a long time!" I starting laughing, "I know right, but . . . my mom's gonna kill me. . ." Megan snickered, "You got that right" Smiling at her I turned around again and made my way to Firefly's stall and saw her bobbing and weaving. The chamomile must've worn off. I went and reached for her halter but before I reached it I was thrown backward from the stall door shaking and onto my butt. "Quinn! You ok?" I nodded my head at Megan and stood up on one leg leaving my crutches on the ground. I looked at Firefly and she looked back at me pawing her front right hoof her ears pinned back. "Hey girl, it's ok, it's me remember me?" She snorted and rammed the door. Not good. "Megan I need your help." Megan started shaking her head, "Uh uh not happening I already helped you out once not again. Your mom is scary" I sighed. "Fine I'll just get it myself," She gave me a confused look, "I was just gonna ask you to get some chamomile to calm her down with." Megan sighed and went to get it. I couldn't help but giggle a little. She always thought the worst. While Meg got the Chamomile I grabbed Firefly's feed bucket and filled it with a few oats and cut a banana as well just to make sure she'd eat it. Megan came back and I figured from how quickly it'd worn off I should do 6 drops instead of three. Counting the drops carefully I slipped Firefly's feed bucket into her stall, and she immediately started eating after I retracted my hand. "Ok now I really need your help, Meg," She gave me a look, "Please!" She sighed, "Fine, but if your mom asks I was forced," I grinned, "Thanks, now I need you to get Nick and groom him, then put on the bareback pad and his bridle, please." Megan sighed again but left to do as I said while I went back to the house. Hobbling up to my room as quietly as I could. Once in my room, I grabbed the full leg brace my doctor had given me for moments when I would be doing some sort of physical activity. Technically my doctor hadn't said I couldn't ride or did they? I couldn't remember now. Going back down the stairs forgetting to be quiet. I hobbled out the door as quickly as I could and found Meg standing at the barn door with Nick and Luna, Firefly's mom, tacked up. "I figured I should probably go since you are likely to do something stupid." I grinned and Megan gave me a leg up leaving my crutches inside the barn Patting Nicks neck I turned to Megan who'd gotten on Luna as well, "Let's go before I regret this," I laughed and clucked Nick into a walk directing him to the trail that led to my favorite place on the property.

Chapter 9 by: Sally
Again Ack don't hate me! I'm so sorry I took so long to post another part just when stuff was slowing down at home they sped up again due to my brother being gone basically till 10 at night after school for the pit ensemble for the play out school's putting on. The Times I'm thankful for my brother is when he's back home and doesn't leave me alone with my parents... Cuz I mean it's scary my parents like to focus on something usually it's my brother or my other two older siblings but I mean... I should probably stop droning on and on about my very boring life and start writing.. Hope you like it!
Chapter Nine
"QUINCY JONES YOU COME HERE THIS INSTANT" that usually isn't a good sign I thought as my Mom yelled for me. Hopping into the kitchen on my crutches my mom stoop at the counter hands on her hips as she started me down hands on her hips, "what in the world were you thinking going out into the barn like that with how crazy Firefly is right now? Especially with how much thunder there was! You could've been hurt!" I smiled sadly, "The thunders why I went out you know how firefly gets with Thunder I didn't want her to hurt herself anymore than she already has. And I didn't go into her stall. At all," so that wasn't completely true, but I mean . . . Probably wouldn't tell her that . . . My mom sighed and nodded, "Sit down and eat your breakfast," looking behind me she added, "Megan it's safe to come in now," I snickered Megan came into the kitchen grinning. Sitting I realized there was bacon, waffles, strawberries and whipped cream the perfect balanced breakfast. "Oh honey don't eat yet actually I invited Dr. Sanders and Noah to eat with us. My jaw dropped. Noah. Why the freaking due I yelled at the first time I met. Turning to Megan I saw her suppressing a grin. Grumbling I lumberjack into my chair as My Dad, Dr. Sanders and Noah all came in and sat down. Noah sadly sat across from me. He didn't look to happy either which made me happy. I know I'm evil. After we prayed it was quiet for a good 3 minutes as everyone Got their food and drug in. I started to eat quickly hopping if I did it would give no reason for anyone to start a conversation with me. Apparently my mom noticed, "QUINCY stop shoving your face so full that you like your a pig," I snorted just in spite of her, she didn't let her displeasure show, "so Noah where will you be going to high school at in I think about 1 week," "I'll be going to North hill high," choked, "Thats perfect" my mom said clapping her hands together, "Quincy goes there with Megan so they can help you out on the first day," now I was choking and Megan patted my back as I coughed. I knew it. My mother had a plan. She always has a plan. Noah looked at me smiling, "I think that would be great," I glared and stood up on one leg, "Excuse me while I go find a whole to die in," I heard Dr. Sanders, Megan and My dad all started snickering as I stormed out the door as fast as I could on my crutches to the barn. Sometimes you just really need to make your mom mad to let off steam.

Chapter 8 by: Sally
Chapter Eight
Sometimes I just really wish I was wrong. You know that minute when your like 'Oh yeah that's definitely gonna be happening' and secretly your like 'please no' well that's Firefly.
"Woah girl your ok it's just a storm, your ok just calm down" Firefly let out a shrill whinny her ears back and lashed out with her front hooves at the stall door.
"Come on girl you gotta stay calm or you'll make your injury worse" she set her front hooves down for a second before going back up. Letting out a sigh I turned and hobbled to our barn office. Looking through the drawers I found what I was looking for and went to the feed bin. Scooping out some grain I put it into a feed bucket and sprinkled some chamomile onto it. We always had some on hand due to the fact that Firefly was sometimes like a toddler throwing a tantrum but she loved Chamomile and always instantly calmed smelling or tasting it. Sighing as I went back to her stall and saw she was still at it. Holding up the feed bucket I shook it a bit and she immediately stopped rearing and looked at me. Her ears were still pinned back but it was good she stopped, she was an angel when there was food involved so I guess she's lucky that she does a sport that always keeps her in shape otherwise with how much she eats she'd be fat and lazy. Smiling I hobbled up and hung the bucked on the plastic pin in her stall. The minute I hung it up she thrust her head into the bucket and started eating. I slowly saw the Chamomile take affect as I stood there and her tense muscles loosened and her soon her ears weren't pinned back as far. Sitting on the bale of hay in front of her stall I leaned back and before I knew it I slowly drifted off to sleep.
Morning "QUINN!" I jerked my head up as I heard my name and saw my dad come thundering up to me Dr.Sanders, Noah and Megan behind him. 'Busted' I thought, putting on my sweetest smile I answered, "Yes?" His gaze darkened, "You were out here all night weren't you?" my smile broke and I nodded, "I knew she'd be upset about the storm so I came and gave her Chamomile," he pinched the bridge of his nose but his hardened face softened, "Next time tell me," I raised an eyebrow, "Yes I know you'll probably have to argue or go out the front door but still tell me next time," I nodded and stood slowly standing on one leg and felt something warm nudge my arm. Turning around I saw Firefly looking at me ears perked. Yep it's official Chamomile does wonder. Patting her neck I hopped over to the other side of her stall and looked at Dr. Sanders and Noah, "You guys here to check on her?" They nodded and I slipped on her halter and unlatched the stall door. Holding her halter while Dr. Sanders checked her out I gripped Fireflies mane to stay in better balance. Hearing a nicker I looked behind me and saw Nick looking at me. Smiling I reached over with the hand that was holding the mane and patted the thrust out muzzle. Nick was the oldest horse we have but he still had spring in his step at 20 and I loved to ride him when I wasn't riding Firefly. One of the ranch hands, Max, I'm assuming fed him and let me sleep. As soon as Dr.Sanders came out of her stall I closed the door and let go of her halter and slipped it off again. "She seems to be doing good, and you said you used Chamomile to calm her down right?" I nodded, "Smart, I hadn't thought of that it's a good natural light sedative that'll calm almost any horse down," nodding I smiled, "You, home, now" I looked at my Dad as he pointed at me and Megan handed me my crutches. Hopping out of the barn me and Megan made out way to the house, looking at her I smiled, "Thank you, and I owe you big," She grinned, "You got that right you do," Laughing we let ourselves in and I went upstairs to change while she went to get some breakfast.

Chapter Seven by: Sally
ACK! Don't Hate me! I'm so sorry to those of you who have been waiting for me to post! Let's just say highschool stinks and I can't wait for the summer. It's been nuts and I have currently just started riding again! *Sigh* I basically was waiting for so long to ride at a certain stable and well now I am!
Chapter Seven
"Are you nuts!" I shrugged, not the first time I'd heard that from Megan. "Firefly needs me, all I'm asking you to do is act like we're both up here and drop my crutches down to me," I said simply, Megan shook her head, "Yep your nuts and if I do this you owe me big little cowgirl" she smirked as she said my ridiculous nickname,I waved my hand at her, "Yeah, yeah heard it all before, mint thin supply for a month, I gotcha," We giggled and I stood up from my bed, "Now lets get going," Slipping on my black raincoat opening my window, I popped out my screen and crawled through gritting my teeth as my knee bumped the ground. Dang sprain. Hopping on one leg I went over to where the large oak tree next to my window was.
Smiling as I heard Megan grumbling about the cold as she followed me with my crutches and called over to me, "Again are you nuts! You do realize you have only climbed down the tree when you had two working knees and never in the rain!" I cocked my head for a moment. Hadn't thought about that part, oh well, here we go! Grabbing the closest branch I shimmied onto it my hurt knee first to go on. Scooting over I gripped the trunk and started climbing, clinging on for dear life and gritting my teeth as my knee burned.I probably would've jumped around if I could when my feet touched the ground but of course, I couldn't. Looking up I called to Megan, "Drop em' down!" she did and I nearly got hit in the head with them as well. Grumbling I started hobbling my way to the stable my hair already soaked due to the fact my hood had blown off my head the minute I stepped outside. Who cares though?
My horse needed me and nothing was going to stop me. The storm. My Parents. Megan. No one in this instance right now would stop me from going to see my injured horse who is probably freaked out from this giant storm.
I swear I'll continue this chapter but I gotta go and ride!

Chapter Six by: Sally
Chapter Six
I let out a sigh I didn’t know I’d been holding when my dad pulled up to our house. It’s tan paint peeling a little but the rest seemed more like someone lived there than a house that was falling to pieces. Besides all of this, I was happy to be home.
I hopped out of the car and Megan handed me, my crutch. I went as fast as I could to the horse trailer. I heard Firefly whinny and knew that Firefly could smell home too. I went over and opened the trailer door and leaned my crutches against the side of the trailer. I hopped into the trailer which held my scared horse.
"Shh... girl, it’s okay. No one’s gonna hurt you." Firefly bobbed her head up and down and stomped her hoof. She stopped moving though her eyes still said she was terrified so I sang.
"Fire in the sky, flying free in the night sky. My Firefly strong and sweet, my friend that makes me soar in the sky high in the sky. My Firefly with eyes of fire and a heart of gold. My friend, My Firefly."
Firefly nickered at the song, I constantly sang different parts of the song to her so she recognized it. I limped into the trailer and untied her lead rope, gently leading her down the ramp.
"Honey why don’t you let your father take her to her stall and let's get you inside."
I shook my head. Though I was feeling a little tired and it had started to rain I knew that my horse needed I and I needed her horse. I started walking to the barn, for once happy that it wasn’t that far from the house. Firefly nickered again when she saw the barn and pranced a little bit. I pulled down on her lead pulling Firefly’s head to my level and said, "It’s okay girl, just a little farther and you’ll be back home."
Megan was a little ways away with my crutches, knowing well enough not to get to close. The rain had started to pick up so I walked a little faster some of my weight on Firefly and off my knee. I finally got to Firefly’s stall and quickly led Firefly in it.
After taking off her halter, I left and accepted my crutches from Megan. By the time they made it to the house I was exhausted.
"Quinn, do you want something to drink?"
I turned her head to the sound of my Mom’s voice and said, "I’m good. I think me and Megan are just going to hang out in my room."
I handed my crutches to Megan and started to hop up the stairs, using the rail to pull myself off. My knee had started to throb and I didn’t want to put pressure on it. By the time I made it to the top of the stairs I was sweating and it was pouring outside. Megan gave me, my crutches and we made our way to my room. I collapsed on my bed and let out a sigh.
"Thanks Meg, I know you didn’t have to do this."
Megan smiled at me, "Ya know, I should’ve brought duct tape because I have a feeling little miss sunshine is up to something."
I smiled back at her, "Why ever would you think that?" I looked at her my eyes glinting, Meg did know me well.

Chapter Five by: Sally
Chapter Five
Quinn cautiously hobbled into Firefly's temporary stall. They had decided that if she wanted to get close, I was better not to bring her crutches in so Firefly wouldn't get spooked. She held the halter and lead at her side, her arms spread out so she could keep her balance. She made her way to her horse speaking quietly.
"Shh... girl, it's okay. I'm just gonna take you home. No one's gonna hurt you, just let me get this on you and we'll be going home," she blind the halter on Firefly quickly and clipped the lead on. She looked at her parents, the vet and Megan standing near the stall door.
"Can you guys stand back and give her room?"
They all stepped back giving them room. She led her horse out leaning against her some so she wouldn't fall over. They walked out to the parking lot where the trailer was.
Firefly walked along obediently until she saw where we were going. She reared, throwing Quinn off balance. Quinn landed on the ground and rolled out of the way of her hooves that came flashing down. She pawed the ground and shook her head letting out a shrill whinny.
Someone grabbed Quinn and dragged her out of range of Firefly's hooves and heaved her onto her feet. She turned around and saw that it was her dad who had pulled her away. Megan handed Quinn her crutches which she took gratefully.
"I've got an idea." Every one turned to Quinn who was already digging out the carrot she always had on her when she was around horses. She carefully hobbled into the trailer and held out the carrot to Firefly who was standing and looking at her as if to say, "Why are you in there?"
"Here, Firefly, come and get it. All you have to do is get in the trailer."
Firefly cautiously but slowly walked toward Quinn. When she made it in the trailer Quinn fed her the carrot whispering, "That's a good girl," and slowly made her way as quietly as possible out of the trailer.
As soon as she was out, Megan and her Dad closed the door while Mom shook hands with Mrs. Sanders. Together, they all made their way into the car and breathed a sigh of relief as they pulled onto the road home.

An idea for Annie Rose the horse girl by: Sally
Hi Annie Rose! Thanks a lot for your comment, it's really nice. And so I also have school so I don't have much time to write it so what I do is since sometimes the sessions can be timed out and the story you're writing be deleted, I write it out on a doc or paper and then when I have the time I post it. Hope this helps!

Chapter Four by: Sally
Chapter Four
"Dr. Sanders, you better get up here. Firefly's owner is here."
I stood there on my crutches as the desk attendant called our vet up. I ended up pacing the last two minutes which was harder than it seemed with crutches. Megan and my parents stood by patiently letting me pace and tire myself out.
"You must be Quincy Jones."
I spun around quickly and saw our vet, she was a nice looking lady with long dark hair compared to my dirty blonde hair. She was almost towering over me but was pretty easy considering I was only 5'4 1/2.
"Yes, I'm Quincy but please call me Quinn." I started slowly at first but then immediately cut to the point, "how's Firefly?"
The doctors face fell into a sad smile, "She's a fighter but..."
Buts were never good.
"She has fractured her back leg and it will eventually heal right but she isn't doing well cooped up in a stall, but I can't let her out for she might hurt herself."
I nodded. That wasn't too bad. "May I see her?"
The vet nodded and led us down a hallway of stalls. My face fell when we reached Firefly's stall. She was standing in the back corner her beautiful mane and coat matted with sweat and dirt.
"Why hasn't anyone brushed her down?"
The doctors face fell even more, "No one's been able to get close to her since the surgery. The only time we can is when she's sedated."
I nearly cried when I heard her and when I saw Firefly's ears flick at the sound of my voice.
"Let me go in."
The doctor shook her head, "You could get even more injured."
I shook my head but before I could reply Megan spoke. I hadn't even realized she was still there.
"You don't know Quinn like I do. If her horse needs her, she's gonna go in no matter what."
I nodded my head in agreement and the doctor contemplated but finally nodded her head, "Okay but go slow. She's not the same horse you remember." I nodded and my dad opened the stall door for me.
I slowly walked in on my crutches and went up to her face. "Hey girl how you doing? We're matching now," I motioned to my brace and the brace on her back leg. "I hear you haven't been too good for the doctors. Is that true?"
Her ears perked to show she was listening but then I made a wrong move. I placed my hand on her neck and she stomped her hooves and looked up, eyes wild. She was about to rear and kick when someone pulled me out. I fought them and ended up punching their nose.
"Quinn, stop!" I heard my dad's voice and froze.
Then a voice I didn't recognize spoke, "That's what I get for saving her from that psycho horse?"
Everyone must've slapped their foreheads because I turned around and looked at the guy who'd pulled me away from my horse. He was 6 feet and pretty muscular with a fine chiseled face and light brown shaggy hair. He looked annoyed but he just made a serious mistake. He took a girl from her horse. I slapped him, plainly slapped him.
Everyone that knew me knew I had a temper especially when it came to Firefly so the poor guy didn't see it coming.
"Next time a strange dude goes into your bedroom while you're talking to someone, you know are you going to protect them or sit there and do nothing."
The guy was speechless as Dr. Sanders said, "Noah, why don't you go and check on Choco." He nodded and walked away mumbling something about girls and their horses.
I thought for a moment then said, "Can we take her home because it might be the best place for her to recover unless you need to watch her?"
Dr. Sanders nodded, "She can come home but from now on please try not to slap Noah when he was just trying to help." I nodded and smiled.
I walked back to Firefly's stall and whispered to her, "Hear that girl, you're going home."

Chapter 3 - continued by: Sally
My Grandma came to help break her in and saw the bond we had. So later that night she braided us each a little strand of yarn. It's been six years and I've never let that yarn leave my side since and I twirl Firefly's strand around her halter or sometimes in her tail then if not just her bridle.
I looked back out the window and saw the clinic. The moment the car stopped, I tore out the door going as fast as I could on my crutches. I pushed my way into the building and straight to the front desk.
"Where's Firefly?!"
More to come :)
