Riding in the Forest - Part 2 by: Athena
Ann and Honey arrived home amidst the heavy downpour of rain. In due respect to her beloved companion, Ann made Honey as comfortable as possible- with an addition of yummy bran mash and carrots.
When finished, Ann stepped into their house. It was warm and cozy, and the smell of roasted chicken filled the air. Her mom was sitting in the soft white sofa.
"So how did it go?" she asked her daughter. "It went fine," Ann replied, smiling. "Until the rain came and ruined it all." Her mother chuckled. "Your brother is waiting to hear about your adventures." Ann went upstairs into her brother Jack's room. Jack was reading Black Beauty, their favorite book.
"Hi Jack!" Ann greeted him. "You should have went with me and Honey. It was so much fun! Want to watch a movie?" Jack looked up, an eager expression spread across his young face. "Sure! What movie are we going to watch?" he asked. "Black Beauty." Ann replied. She put the movie on and they enjoyed the sad, touching film.
"Tomorrow, you will come with us on the ride into the forest." Ann told her brother, as she snuggled closer to him, ignoring the screaming of the rain outside.
