really, check your java version. Java's site can do this and recommend an update.
Using Google Chrome (the browser) helps too. FIREFOX DOES NOT WORK with most Java- and adobe-based games!! It can and will occasionally crash your computer over them. Chrome will not.
Also, make sure you have the correct bit for Java. Like a horse, a computer has bits. 64-bit and 32-bit are only compatible one way: 64 takes both and 32 takes only one.
Java can tell you which to get. I promise. I deal with Java constantly.
