In Moondance Alexander, a girl named Moondance isn't very popular. She always gets pushed around and laughed at. Then while riding her bike, she gets surprised by a horse standing in the middle of the road.

The horse gets sent back to his old stable Tumbleweed Stables. Then, Moondance feels bad because Checkers (Moondance named the horse Checkers) gets cooped up in a stall all day. She finds the stable by hitting a rock and rolling down a hill with her bike. She runs into the owner of the stable and asks for a trade. She takes care of the horses if she gets to ride Checkers. He agrees.

Then the two popular girls that bug her all the time, Fiona and Megan, say Checkers is a misfit and doesn't belong in jumping because he is a Pinto. But the owner of Tumbleweed Stables, Dauntay, says Checkers is a very good jumper, so Moondance persuades him to train her to jump. Then she enters the Bow River Classic along with Megan and Fiona.

That's my summary on Moondance Alexander. It's an awesome movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic!

This is an excellent horse movie, indeed it is more than just a horse movie it is about a girl and a horse who view themselves as outsiders. They are searching for something more than what they currently have. In essence, they both find fulfillment in each other and learn to accept their uniqueness and abilities. This movie is a good starting point to help animals and humans to heal after experiencing a trauma or an emotionally painful experience.

This movie is the best movie I have ever watched (besides Dreamer). I LOVE it! So, Donte is really like sad because one of his students crashed into a jump on the course. Or at least that is what they say in the movie. But this is just such a great movie!

When I was 15 years of age, I always thought that this horse movie would pretty much outrank the 1st transformers movie

I heard about this horse movie when i was fifteen and I never saw it in theaters. So when i bought the movie and watched it for the first time in my natural life, I felt that this was better than Transformers. I always knew that Cloud 3 and War Horse would beat the other 2 transformers. The horse named Checkers was a really beautiful black and white pinto horse and I loved his pretty blue eyes.

After watching Moondance Alexander for the first time in my life, I saw the way those kids in her freshman year of high school treated her. I also felt bad for her to the fact that her dad died in a car accident, and I realized that sometimes bullies in school can laugh at you for losing a parent. Luckily, she befriends a black and white pinto horse with beautiful blue eyes and names him Checkers. By the time they enter the Bow River Classic jumping competition, two of the mean girls named Fiona and Megan taunted Moondance and Checkers because they were prejudice against multicolored horses and made a rude comment that he shouldn't jump at all. What made me even more mortified was the fact that after getting a flat tire on her bike, there was mud on her buttocks area of her pants and one of the stupid guys took a picture of Moondance's mud stained pants with his cellphone and put it on the internet. It was really inappropriate. I almost burst into tears. It wasn't funny at all. I realized that horses can make you feel better and be your truest friends... no matter what.

It's about a girl who gets picked on at school and it's just the ending, so time for summer fun.

Well she was just doing a new delivery, she gets stuck taking a horse home with her that really is not her horse but her mom sees just how much she loves that horse. That's how it all starts.

This is a great movie! i really enjoy it! i ride but after seeing this i want to try hunt seat (which is what Moondance rides at the end of the movie). it seems like soooooo much fun and i really enjoy riding! to anyone out there who is like Moondance, just keep believing in yourself and remember that everyone is special and is destined for something extrodinary! follow ur dreams and let life run it's course. someday you'll find your talent and then it's time to let it shine! face reality and believe that everything happens for a reason! btw: i think riding is an awesome sport and it has made me a lot happier!! follow ur dreams and spend time in the saddle! :D

This movie is all about courage, trust, bullies, standing up, and above all, determined and not give up, even in the darkest parts(there's a part in there that seems like you HAVE to give up). I love it!

it is a really good movie! seriously one of my favorites! But honestly you don't get that good in one summer. first she has never even been on a horse before and then suddenly she can jump professionally. i thought that was very unrealistic. but other than that it was a great movie!

It is strange how fast she learned to jump!!!!!!! I have been jumping awhile, and I can't jump even close to that height, and everyone, even a famous rider, said I am a natural!!

From Sydney: LOL! It is a movie. Though the director told us it was based on a true story that happened to her...I am sure they changed it some for the movie.

DESCRIPTION: Moondance Alexander is a free-spirited girl with some interesting fashion sense (!) who stumbles across an escape-artist pinto who looks as unique as she does! Inspired by a true story, the movie follows the adventures of 9th-grader Moondance who recently lost her father and lives with her eccentric artist mother.

She discovers lost pinto pony "Tinkerbelle" and returns him to his rightful owner, the no-nonsense horse trainer Dante Longpre. Moondance learns that Tinkerbelle, who she re-names Checkers, is quite an accomplished jumper, and is determined to help him realize his true potential. She convinces Dante to let her work at his stable in exchange for riding lessons, and in time decides to train Checkers for a prestigious jumping competition.

Despite criticism from other riders (and judges) for riding a pinto rather than a less-flamboyant Thoroughbred, Moondance learns that hard work and loyalty can be a winning combination.

It was ok but it's weird that the girl suddenly loves horses and seem like an expert. Well anyway it was ok, it had horses in it but it seemed less horsey than other horse movies, and sometimes in scenes she falls off without a scratch on her.

Moondance is a great movie! Its about a horse that was at first named "Tinkerbell" when its a boy! But Moondance changes it to "Checkers"! I started crying when Checkers get sick! A very heart warming movie. I recommend for any horse lover!

i luv that movie! i mean, it teaches u alot about how hard it is for the not-so-popular people to fit in. And another lesson it teaches is that u can't judge anything by just looking at it. That's what happened to Checkers, cuz they thought he couldn't jump cuz he wuz a paint, but he wuz underestimated and tied for first place!

It's a great movie about a girl who just wants to it in. However she can't because the horse she rides isn't supposed to be able to be a show jumper. I think it's a little racist against paints but it's still a phenominal (sorry for misspelling) movie!

In this movie MoonDance is working for a man that owns a tack shop. Then one day she had to make a delivery to a forgotten barn way out in the country. On the way there she found a paint horse. She took him home. She kept it in the shed until the owner came to pick him up. She didn't make the delivery the day that she found the horse(Checkers). So, she had to make the delivery the next day back to the same place. When she did she found the barn that Checkers belonged to and got a summer job there. She jumped Checkers and.....watch it to see what happens.

This is a GREAT movie to watch and it is a little sad, but it was worth watching it.! :)

It is a super great movie! My friend and I watched it tons of times! It is about a girl who finds a pinto horse she names Checkers, and gets a job at a stables called Tumbleweed Stables where Checkers is. She works hard, and in return she gets to ride Checkers. When she learns Checkers is a great jumper, she enters him into a showjumping show. Will she win? Will Checkers be judged umfairly because he's a pinto? There's only one way to find out!!!

i love this movie
its about a girl named moondance and shes having some friend trouble in school then its summer break she delivers packages to ppl and one time she was on her way to deliver one a paint horse jumpes out infront of her she brings it home with her and tries to ride it but she doesnt know how to ride lol so she falls off lol:) in the end she ends up going in a big jumpng show and she wins!!! :)
