The Hoofbeats series is a must read!

Lara and the Gray Mare:

It is about a girl that loves a gray mare that's in foal. She cant wait for the foal to come, but a few days before the mare is about to be born the mare gets stolen.

She sets off to find the horse but she does not know what awaits her. YOU MUST READ IT! :)

Lara and the Gray Mare

This book is about a little girl named Lara. Her dad had found a pregnant war horse. Lara called her The Gray Mare.

Then, men came and took the villages horses, including The Gray Mare. Lara fount the mare one night and she had given birth to a filly. Lara made a promise to the dying mare that she would care of the filly, which she named Dannisar (which means dancer).

She took care of her and then they were captured my the kings men. I'm not spoiling anymore you will have to read the Hoofbeats series to learn more and Lara, Dannisar and the rest of the lot.

Katie and the Mustang

A girl from the olden days is adopted by neighbors. When they go on a wagon train to buy a mustang who is wilder than the wind she becomes friends with the horse. Soon, they want to shoot the mustang and give her away but their servant takes them with him and they escape.

In the end she sets the mustang free and he breeds with two mares and the girl get to keep 1 foal.

Read both series and you'll enjoy them lots!
