This story improves with every part. Keep writing! I cannot wait to see what happens in the contest. And to echo Alex, you do cliffhangers very well. Often they can seem contrived, like bringing the story up to a sharp halt - kind of like jerking on the reins of a racehorse who wants to gallop. But you handle them well. Not jerking the horse in the mouth, just rocking the bit a little to collect him. Fabulous!

Keep writing! You are a good writer, always leaving the readers on a cliff hanger. (in case you don't know, a cliff hanger is a really important part in a story. It makes readers chew their nails because they want to read what happens next.)
