Hasan is the spoiled son of an Emir in ancient Egypt. He ends up insulting a very powerful magus and ends up being turned magically into a horse in order to be taught a lesson in what it was to serve others.

Much to his dismay he is purchased by a young girl and must learn to respect and obey her. However, Hasan makes for a very high spirited beast and tests Zamaniyah's will every step of the way.

But in the end, who will eventually succumb to whom?
